The Residents Journey

We help neighbours work together to improve homes street by street, making it easier, more affordable and more achievable for everyone.

Imagine living in a warmer home with lower energy bills. Helping neighbours improve their homes together. Everyone deserves to live in a home that is warm, comfortable and affordable to heat.

Yet millions of people across the UK are living in older homes that are expensive to keep warm, difficult to improve and costly to run.

Many people want to make changes—but don't know where to start.

That's where Looped comes in.

We help neighbours work together to improve homes street by street, making it easier, more affordable and more achievable for everyone.

1. Why are we working street by street?

Most home improvement schemes ask each household to make decisions on their own.

We believe there's a better way.

By working together as a neighbourhood, communities can:

  •  Reduce costs

  •  Share infrastructure

  • Attract more investment

  • Support each other through the process

  • Create stronger, more connected communities.

When neighbours work together, everyone benefits.

2. What could this mean for your home?

Every community is different, but a Looped Energy Community could include:

  • A warmer home: Better insulation and cleaner heating can make your home more comfortable throughout the year.

  • Lower energy bills: Using energy more efficiently and sharing local infrastructure can help reduce the cost of keeping your home warm.

  • Cleaner energy: Generating and using more local renewable energy helps reduce carbon emissions while supporting the transition to a cleaner future.

  • A healthier place to live: Warmer homes can reduce damp, improve comfort and contribute to better health and wellbeing.

  • A stronger community: Neighbourhood projects bring people together and help communities shape their own future.

3. How does it work?

Every Looped community follows the same simple journey.

Step 1

Residents register their interest.

Step 2

The community explores whether a neighbourhood project could work.

Step 3

Homes are assessed to understand what improvements might be suitable.

Step 4

If enough people want to take part, the project is designed and funding is secured.

Step 5

Improvements are carried out by trusted local delivery partners.

Step 6

The community continues to benefit through ongoing support and smarter energy management.

You won't be expected to work this out on your own.

We'll support you throughout the journey.

4. Your'e not doing this alone

One of the biggest differences with Looped is that local people remain at the heart of every project.

You'll be supported by:

Local community organisations

Trusted delivery partners

Your Local Authority

The Looped team

Your neighbours

Together we'll help make the process as straightforward as possible.

5. Questions people often ask
  • Will I have to pay everything upfront?: Our aim is to make neighbourhood improvements as affordable as possible. Different communities may use different funding and finance arrangements, and we'll explain these clearly before any decisions are made.

  • Do I have to take part?: No. Participation is always your choice. We'll provide clear information so you can decide what's right for you.

  • What if I rent my home?: Many Looped communities include a mix of homeowners, private landlords and housing providers. We'll work with the relevant organisations to explore what is possible.

  • What happens if I move? Any long-term arrangements will be explained clearly before you decide to participate, so you understand how they work if your circumstances change.

  • Who do I speak to?: Every Looped community has trusted local organisations who can answer questions and provide support throughout the process.

6. Why people choose Looped

7. Dave's story

Our work was inspired by people like Dave, featured in our Left Behind documentary.

Dave's story reflects the experience of many households across the UK who want warmer homes and lower bills but have found the journey confusing, expensive or overwhelming.

His story reminds us that successful neighbourhood energy starts with people, not technology

Interested in finding out more?

Register your interest with us below and we'll let you know if there's already a Looped project in your area. If not, well keep you updated as new communities are developed and explain how you can help bring Looped to your neighbourhood. When the time is right, we'll invite you to local events where you can ask questions and meet the people leading the project.

Let's create a warmer future together.

The transition to cleaner energy shouldn't be something people face alone.

By working together as neighbours, communities can create homes that are warmer, healthier and more affordable while building a stronger future for everyone.
